We believe that Jesus Christ is the only Son of God

and that He came to earth as fully God and fully man.

We believe that His death on the cross was as a

substitution for all people and that He rose from the dead on the third

day and will come again to judge the world.

Salvation

We believe that all people  are born with a sinful nature and that the work

of the Cross of Christ was to purchase mankind from the slavery of sin.  The

gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ is available to all who will receive

 it by faith.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and that

He works within people to accomplish the purpose of God.  We believe that

there are multiple experiences with the Holy Spirit, including His invitation

to salvation, His work in us to accomplish salvation, and His coming upon

us through the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.  We believe that He

demonstrates His presence through the fruit and gifts of the Spirit.

The Sacred Scripture

We believe in the Bible as the inspired and literal Word of god.

We believe that it is the complete revelation of God’s will for mankind and that it is final authority in all issues of faith and living.

Stewardship

We believe that ever person is the manager or steward of the resources God has given including life itself, and that all of those resources ultimately belong to god.  We believe that the Church is to be supported through the tithes and offerings of the membership and congregation.

The Church

We believe that the Church is the eternal and university Body of Christ consisting of all of those who have accepted the work of salvation through Jesus Christ.  We believe that the purposes for a local assembly of believers are to witness to the lost and to encourage one another in the faith.  We believe that god ahs called us to work together with other local congregations to achieve His purpose for our city.

Church Government

We believe that the local church is made up of those  who have been drawn together by the Holy Spirit and that they have the responsibility to select pastors, teachers, elders, and other leaders to exercise spiritual authority over the congregation.

Prayer and Praise

We believe in the worship of the Lord through musical and physical demonstrations such as singing, dancing, and the lifting of hands.  We believe in the power of prayer and in the authority of the believer to seek God freely for the meeting of needs.  We believe these demonstrations to be holy unto God.

Body Ministry

We believe in the ministry of healing and deliverance through the anointing with oil by the elders and leaders of the church.  This ministry is made available to all who desire it at our worship services.

Evangelism

We believe that witnessing to those who do not know Jesus Christ is the responsibility of every believer.  We believe that each person is first responsible to minister to their own family and then to others as the Holy Spirit leads and anoints them.  We believe that the ministry of evangelism is necessarily followed by the ministry of discipleship to Jesus Christ.

Water Baptism

We believe that every person who accepts Jesus Christ as their personal savior should be baptize in water in obedience to the Scriptures.  We believe that Water Baptism is one of the first and most significant public professions of a person’s faith in Jesus Christ.

The Priesthood of the Believer

We believe that every believer has a unique relationship to the Lord Jesus Christ.  We believe that every child of God has immediate access to the Heavenly Father and that He has given the power of Jesus Christ to work both in and through people.  We belie that every born again Christian has a gift of the Holy Spirit within them for use in benefiting the entire local congregation.  Those who worship at Austin Cornerstone are encouraged to find a place of ministry and exercise their gifts.

Social Outreach

We believe that the Church has been called to be a witness to the world of the power of Jesus Christ.  We believe that one of the ways this is accomplished is through social ministries such as feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, and ministering compassion to those who are imprisoned.  We believe another way the Church bears witness to the power of Christ is through the elimination of socio-economic, cultural, gender and ethnic barriers in our worship and in our fellowship.
